BIN OPTIMISATION PROGRAM

In 2023, Cassowary Coast Regional Council launched the Public Bin Optimisation Initiative to enhance waste management in our community. This involved replacing 55-litre bins with larger 240-litre wheelie bins at strategically selected locations to improve capacity and efficiency.

Council is continuously looking at how we can improve and adjust our services to better meet the needs of our community. Recently, CCRC switched to a new waste collection service, JJ’s Waste and Recycling. The JJ’s team is responsible for the collection of both kerbside and public placed bins.

With the change, Council would like to gain your feedback to how we can improve on the public placed bins within our townships. Your input will help us better meet the needs of our residents.

Community members can participate by using our interactive mapping tool to drop a pin at the bin's location and share their thoughts. Feedback can address various aspects, including bin placement, service frequency, and or suggested improvements

We encourage everyone to take part in this important consultation and help shape the future of waste management in our community!

Consultation Closes – Sunday 1 December 2024
