Thank you to everyone who took the time to complete the survey or attend the recent community workshop for the Cardwell Walking Network Plan.

We’ve received around 50 survey responses, along with valuable feedback shared in person at the workshop. We really appreciate the thoughtful input and local knowledge provided.

Early common themes:

While Council is still reviewing all submissions in detail, some early themes emerging include:

• The foreshore path is highly valued and well loved
• A strong desire for ongoing maintenance to a high standard
• Requests for more shade along key walking routes
• Better connections to the foreshore path from residential areas to the north and Port Hinchinbrook
• Interest in a pathway along Brasenose Street to better connect the town centre with the community hall, park and country club

What happens next?

Council and the Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) will now review all information provided, including workshop feedback and survey responses.

An engagement summary will be prepared and shared on this page once the review process is complete.
