Cassowary Coast Regional Council has completed community consultation on the region’s stinger net services.

We received more than 825 contributions from residents, visitors, and stakeholders across online surveys, community pop-ups, written submissions, and workshops.

Your feedback clearly showed strong support for retaining stinger nets at existing beach locations, including Etty Bay, Mission Beach, South Mission Beach, and North Mission Beach.

What’s next?

Council will continue to provide stinger net enclosures at the current locations during stinger season. Your feedback has helped shape our long-term approach to safety and service delivery across our coastline.
