Works Notice #9 – 15 October 2024

Works locations:

David Street, Village Green and Porter Promenade – Stormwater Construction

Cassowary Coast Regional Council wishes to advise that contractors RMS Engineering & Construction will be commencing the following works as part of the Mission Beach Town Centre Revitalisation:

Overall Works: Stormwater Construction

Dates: Monday 21 October to Friday 13 December 2024, [subject to delays]

Work times:6am to 6pm Monday – Friday [Saturday work as required required]

Works Breakdown:

Starting Monday 21 October, RMS will continue proceeding with stormwater construction works from David Street into the Village Green area and along Porter Promenade. To facilitate the replacement of stormwater culverts and pits at key intersections along Porter Promenade, traffic lights will be installed to ensure the work is carried out safely and efficiently. During the installation of the traffic lights, RMS will also carry out essential underground work to minimise disruptions and make the most of the lane closure.

The stormwater works are projected to be finished by Friday 13 December 2024. Please note that access and work areas may change regularly, and updates will be provided as required.

Temporary Impacts as a result of these works include:

• Delivery vehicle bay will be temporarily moved along Porter Promenade.
• Alternate routes for traffic, parking, and pedestrian movement will be implemented.
• Traffic lights will be implemented.
• Some parking spaces may be affected during construction access for service location work.
• The contractor will ensure that access for businesses is maintained.
• There are no planned disruptions to services due to these works.
• Please be aware of potential noise from machinery during construction.
• Fencing will be installed around any open excavations, and pedestrian areas will be restored wherever required.
