Cassowary Coast Regional Council wishes to advise that contractors RMS Engineering & Construction will be commencing the following works as part of the Mission Beach Town Centre Revitalisation:

Overall Works: Service Location & Realignment/Installation, Vegetation Clearing, Demolition Works & Stormwater Construction

Dates: Monday 30 September to Friday 13 December, some Saturday work required [subject to delays]

Work times:6am to 6pm

Works Breakdown:

David Street & Village Green

From Tuesday 1 October 2024

RMS will commence Clearing and Service Location work on the northern side of the Village Green and along David Street. This will involve some minor demolition of paving, removal of garden beds, and clearing vegetation to access the work areas. Vacuum excavation will also be used to locate existing services. These activities are necessary for relocating the existing Telstra infrastructure.

From the 3 of October 2024

RMS will begin relocating the Telstra Line approximately 1 to 1.5 meters north. This work is expected to be completed by 11 October 2024.

Construction for Stormwater Alignment along David Street is ongoing and is projected to be finished by 13 December 2024. Please note that access and work areas may change regularly, and updated will be provided as required.

Porter Promenade and Campbell Street

Starting Tuesday 1 October 2024

Service Location and underboring work will be conducted at various locations along Porter Promenade and Campbell Street. These works are estimated to be completed by October 10, 2024.

Temporary Impacts as a result of these works include:

• Alternate routes for traffic, parking, and pedestrian movement will be implemented.
• Stairs and footpaths will be temporarily removed, with new gravel access provided.
• Some parking spaces may be affected during construction access for service location work.
• The contractor will ensure that access for businesses is maintained.
• There are no planned disruptions to services due to these works.
• Please be aware of potential noise from machinery during construction.
• Fencing will be installed around any open excavations, and pedestrian areas will be restored wherever required.

Every effort will be made to reduce disruptions during this time, and we thank you for your patience and cooperation.
