Works Notice #33

29 October 2025

Cassowary Coast Regional Council wishes to advise that contractors RMS Engineering & Construction will be commencing/continuing the following works as part of the Mission Beach Town Centre Revitalisation:

Overall works:

  • Continuation of footpaths and landscape works Porter Promenade
  • Continuation of Village Green footpaths and landscape works
  • Continuation of the toilet block
  • Continue construction of street lighting along Porter Promenade
  • Continuation of awning construction.

Work times: 6am to 6pm Monday – Friday (Saturday/Sunday work as required)

Works in October include:

Traffic and site changes:

  • Porter Promenade will open to 2 lanes
  • David Street diversion lane (only open to local traffic) will be maintained
  • Pedestrian access diversions around The Pirate Den Bar and Grill & Ex Blues Bar, Porter Promenade for awning construction works
  • Campbell Street will open to 2 lanes
  • Council car park on Campbell Street to remain open.

Awning:

  • Erection of awning steelwork to continue

Toilet block:

  • Continuing construction of toilet block walls and interior, within the Village Green, with some changes to pedestrian access

Pavement works:

  • Continuation of concrete footpaths in Village Green, with associated changes to local traffic flow and pedestrian access during construction
  • Continuation of footpaths along Porter Promenade
  • Continuation of footpaths along Campbell Street.

Works locations:

Please note that access and work areas may change regularly, and updates will be provided as required.

Temporary impacts because of these works:

  • Delivery vehicle bay will move as required to a new location on Porter Promenade
  • Alternate routes for traffic, parking, and pedestrian movement will be in place
  • Traffic control will be in place as required
  • Some parking spaces will continue to be temporarily lost within the works location
  • Business access will be maintained by the Contractor
  • All residents and businesses affected by planned service disruptions will be notified two weeks in advance by the Contractor
  • Potential noise pollution due to machinery
  • Fencing will be installed around any open excavations, and pedestrian areas will be restored wherever required.
