Works location/s: Porter Promenade – Planned Water Service Interruption

Cassowary Coast Regional Council wishes to advise that contractors RMS Engineering & Construction will be commencing the following works as part of the Mission Beach Town Centre Revitalisation:

Works: Watermain Works on Southern side of Post Office Building on Porter Promenade

Dates: Thursday 17th July

Description: Planned water service interruption due to necessary installation of new equipment. The interruption will begin on 17 July, at 9:00 AM – 1:00PM and is expected to last approximately 4 hours. During this time, water service will be suspended in the highlighted areas.

Wednesday 16 July 2025

  • Traffic setup/Excavation & Preparation works

Thursday 17 July 2025

  • Preparation works and shutdown of water services for installation of new equipment
  • Water service interruption will begin at 9:00 am. It is expected the works will be complete by 1:00 pm
  • Testing of new equipment

Friday 18 July 2025

  • Completion of works, work area to be packed up and traffic setup removed. Please refer to the following map to see the affected areas on Porter Promenade:

Temporary impacts as a result of these works

  • Alternate traffic, parking and pedestrian movement will be in place.
  • 1.8 metre fencing will be installed around any open excavations, and pedestrian areas will be restored wherever required
  • Disruptions to services include some water supply interruptions.
  • Potential noise pollution due to machinery
