Cassowary Coast Regional Council wishes to advise that contractors RMS Engineering & Construction will be commencing/continuing the following works as part of the Mission Beach Town Centre Revitalisation:

Overall Works:

• Continuation of stormwater infrastructure installation on Campbell Street
• Continuation of Village Green footpaths & landscape works
• Continuation of the toilet block
• Start of construction of the awning footings on Porter Promenade (Adjacent Sky Dive Building & Pirate Den)
• Start of road construction to include kerb and asphalt installation along Porter Promenade, east side.

Work times:6am to 6pm Monday – Friday [Saturday/Sunday work as required]

Works in September will include:

Traffic & Site Changes:

• Traffic on Porter Promenade will move to western side of Porter Promenade, and remain as one lane
• David Street diversion lane (only open to local traffic) will be maintained by the Contractor, with traffic control devices
• Pedestrian access diversions around The Pirate Den Bar and Grill & Ex Blues Bar, Porter Promenade for footing construction works
• Campbell Street remains closed with a detour around the Post Office car park
• Council car park on Campbell Street to remain open

Stormwater:

• Stormwater works continuation both sides of Campbell Street

Awning:

• Awning footing works will start along Porter Promenade, adjacent to the former Blues Bar and Pirate Den Bar & Grill, including work setup and in-ground footings.
• Continuing construction of toilet block walls and interior, within the Village Green, with some changes to pedestrian access
• Continuation of concrete footpaths in Village Green, with associated changes to local traffic flow & pedestrian access during construction

Toilet Block:

• Continuing construction of toilet block walls and interior, within the Village Green, with some changes to pedestrian access

Pavement Works:

• Continuation of concrete footpaths in Village Green, with associated changes to local traffic flow & pedestrian access during construction

Please note that access and work areas may change regularly, and updates will be provided as required.

Temporary impacts because of these works

• Delivery vehicle bay will move as required to a new location on Porter Promenade
• Alternate routes for traffic, parking, and pedestrian movement will be in place
• Traffic lights will be in place
• Some parking spaces will continue to be temporarily lost within the works location
• Business access will be maintained by the Contractor
• All residents and businesses affected by planned service disruptions will be notified two weeks in advance by the Contractor
• Potential noise pollution due to machinery
• Fencing will be installed around any open excavations, and pedestrian areas will be restored wherever required
