Warrina Lakes Community Parklands Master Plan
Find our more about the plan to rejuvenate Warrina Lakes
Cassowary Coast Regional Council is pleased to present the new Warrina Lakes Nature Play area, which includes slides, climbing nets, and balance beams for active play for our community’s imaginative adventures.
The completion of this project, marks a significant milestone in transforming the community parklands, providing a dynamic blend of natural elements and innovative design.
Councilor for Infrastructure Services Nicholas Pervan said the completion of the Nature Play area is a testament to the collaborative efforts of the community from design to completion.
“I’m thrilled to unveil this vibrant outdoor space that was designed to inspire creativity, exploration, and connection with nature,” said Councillor Pervan.
“Throughout the project, community input played a pivotal role in shaping the final design.
“From interactive play elements to local themes, every detail reflects the unique character of Warrina Lakes and the preferences of our community.”
The completion of this project would not have been possible without the expertise and dedication of “Miles of Landscaping” who brought the nature play vision to life with attention to detail.
“Whether embarking on a recreational walk around the wetlands, taking a ride on the pump track, or enjoying the beauty of nature, there's something for everyone to discover this school holidays,” added Councillor Pervan.
Future stages of the Warrina Lakes Community Parklands Master Plan delivery will be a matter for consideration in Council's annual budget discussions. Council is dedicated to delivering enhancements in a phased and sustainable way, aligning with the needs and preferences of the community.
The Master Plan also stands as a valuable tool to seek additional funding opportunities at both the state and federal government levels.
The Nature Play Project has been proudly funded by the Queensland Government’s Works for Queensland program in association with the Cassowary Coast Regional Council.
The Warrina Lakes Community Parkland holds immense value as a cherished community asset, serving as a hub for both recreational activities and cultural experiences; enhancing the enjoyment and well-being of all who engage with it.
The Masterplan's design ensures a dynamic and inviting space, offering a number of engaging activities and attractions for both the community and visitors to enjoy.
As Council progresses with the ongoing implementation of the Master Plan, our goal is to increase awareness and appreciation of the Lakes. This proactive approach will increase the number of visitors and locals who frequent the lakes. Once delivered, the Master Plan guarantees a vibrant and inclusive space, teeming with a variety of activities and attractions that will serve the community today and into the future.
